We are absolutely delighted that we have retained our title in the Third Section at the LBBA Contest, which took place on 26th October 2025 in Desford, Leicestershire.
This means we have now retained the title 3 years on the trot…
  • 2023 Winners: 4th section
  • 2024 Winners: 3rd section
  • 2025 Winners: 3rd section
We’re also very proud of our Soprano player, Dave Thomas, who came away with the award for Best Instrumentalist.
The Adjudicator’s remarks about Dave’s care and attention to detail in his playing were exemplary.

Our thanks, as always, go to our MD, Nathan Waterman, for his unwavering commitment and leadership.
(He also seems to have limitless stores of patience with us!)
We simply wouldn’t be doing what we’re doing without him.

And we mustn’t forget that this is coupled with the hard work, commitment and sacrifice of the entire Band (and their long-suffering families back home!).
We really have enjoyed an incredible journey of contest success in recent times.

Congratulations also go to our fellow Northamptonshire band, Moulton 77 Band, who won the Fourth Section under the leadership of our very own Principal cornet player, Kirsty Woodhouse.

And with that, our 2025 contesting season draws to a winning close.
Next up are our annual duties during the season of Remembrance, and then it’s swiftly on to probably our busiest season of the year, Christmas.

As for contesting, that starts as soon as we get back in the new year. The 2026 Regionals take place for us on March 15th in Bedworth, where we will compete in the tougher Second Section, following our promotion. For that, we will be working very hard to master a cracking test-piece titled “20,000 Leagues Under The Sea”, by Philip Harper.
