MEMBERSHIP
The band welcomes beginners, intermediate and experienced players and anyone wishing to “have a go”. We like the membership of the band to remain accessible and affordable to all.
Fees (per year) are:
Member – £10/month or £120/year
The subscription covers the use of a band instrument, uniform, tuition and any music needed.
VACANCIES
We currently have vacancies for:
- PRINCIPAL CORNET
- FRONT ROW CORNET

REHEARSALS
We rehearse every Monday and Thursday in the village of Ringstead, near Thrapston (just a few miles from J13 of the A14). Please email us for further information.
The band room is spacious, air-conditioned, and also has a great bar/social area.
Monday: 7:30pm to 9:30pm
Thursday: 7:30pm to 9:30pm
LEARNERS CLASSES
We hold classes for beginners and intermediate players every Thursday before our main practice. Players of all ages are taught the basics of playing a brass instrument (instrument provided). Eventually the aim is that players get to a standard where they are invited to attend the main band practice as well, to further help their musical development.
The class is ably supported by some of our senior players who are there to work closely with the developing players, and offer tuition and encouragement.
Lots of our learners go on to achieve great things in brass banding, including our current MD, Nathan Waterman, who himself rose through the ranks here at Thrapston, eventually playing for many years as Solo Horn for a Championship section band.
