We’re thrilled to announce that Thrapston Town Band has placed 3rd in the Midlands Regional Brass Band Championships, held at The Cube, Corby.
Since rejoining the contesting scene in 2020, this was only our second contest, due to the 2021 event being forced to cancel during the Covid lockdown.
This year’s test piece was Argos, by Stephan Hodel. We were up against some excellent bands from across the region, and despite our own great efforts, in the end, we lost out to two fine performances from Amington and Trentham, who go on to represent the Midlands region at the National Championships later this year. We wish them all the very best at Cheltenham.
The band, under Nathan’s direction, has worked incredibly hard for this contest, and our placing is a testament to the skill and dedication put in by everyone.
This result has given the whole band a real boost and provides strong foundations from which we can build further.
