Thrapston Town Band are very proud to have a busy Remembrance weekend ahead on the 10th and 11th of November.
10th November – Irthlingborough Festival of Remembrance Concert, St Peter’s Church, Irthlingborough. Also featuring local singer Tracey Barker and Irthlingborough Junior School.
11th November – Our Euphonium player, Bob Tattersdale will be joining hundreds of musicians across the UK to play “When the Battle’s O’er” at 6am. This will take place at the War Memorial on Coronation Gardens, Thrapston. This is to commemorate the actual time when the Armistice was signed on November 11, 1918. It came into effect at 11am.
A number of our players will be playing The Last Post and Reveille at local services on the morning of the 11th November.
The band will be marching through Thrapston, starting at 14.30 to the Remembrance service at St. James’ Church, playing the hymns for the service and then marching afterwards.
Finally, we will be playing at a service in Irthlingborough commencing at 6pm.
